British Championship week was such an amazing one in the Ice Cool Confidence calendar! I was so proud to have a skater that has worked with me in every level from Basic Novice A right up to Seniors – and that’s not including all those who have attended my workshops or used my CDs and self-study programmes!  Those of you who follow Ice Cool Confidence on Facebook will have seen the news and photos too, of the International Coaching Awards which took place on the Saturday night – 150 miles away!  I had been told I was a finalist, and it was quite a logistical feat to get there – involving a train from Sheffield to Bedford, changing into a long dress in the ladies there (!) and then onward by car to the awards venue in Buckinghamshire.

I was torn though – as two of my VIP skaters were on the ice on Saturday evening, but I had been announced as a finalist in September, and it was important to be there on the night.

And to my delight I won the International NLP Coach of the Year Award!  It was a very special night for me and I was accompanied by the two most important people in my life – my lovely brother (and chauffeur!) and my daughter (who turned up to support me as a surprise!).  And at precisely the time they announced my name and I was heading up to the stage to accept the award, Josh Brown (of CBBC’s Ice Stars), who has been working with me for the last three months, was skating into a strong 1st place in the Free Programme, earning himself the title British Junior Men’s Champion for 2015!  A fantastic achievement for him and the icing on the cake for my night to remember!

Josh has worked remarkably well on his mental toughness – having smashed his personal best at the Volvo Cup in Latvia a few weeks earlier – and then becoming British Champion.  I’m really looking forward to working with him again in the new year after he gets a well-deserved break.

How would you like some of that success in your life and skating?

If you’d like to work on your mental toughness and mindset skills and get a little Josh-style success in your skating, book in for a 15-minute chat to see how I can help you.  There will be just four spaces opening in January and it will be first come, first served.  Here’s the link to book that chat: https://10to8.com/book/ice-cool-confidence/  or just drop me a line at info@icecoolconfidence.com with your phone number and best day/time for a chat and I’ll call you.
